Prayer

Prayer is a vital part of being the Body of Christ at NCF. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love…[and] devoted to prayer. (Rom. 12:10,12)

NCF takes full advantage of modern day technology by remaining connected throughout the week and informing one another of important and urgent notices and prayer concerns through the NCF Info/Prayer Chain.

Our Prayer Chain coordinator, Laura Barrett, is notified by email (prayerchain.ncf@gmail.com) and the request is forwarded via email through a network of volunteers who contact members. Often, within minutes, people are praying for concerns, whether at home or abroad.

Prayer concerns are shared and prayed for during the Sunday morning Worship Service, as well as in various ministry gatherings. Acts of service to one another grow out of time spent in prayer. The unity of the Body is enhanced through the vulnerability of sharing prayer needs and through the ministry of intercession as we “bear one another’s burdens” in prayer (Galatians 6:2).

As we embrace God’s fullness by being Christ’s Body, NCF recognizes the importance of praying, both as individuals and corporately. James encourages us and reminds us of the power of prayer. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much (James 5:16)!
